This nut was a life saver several years ago, when I experienced a mild (well, it didn’t feel that way at the time) case of food poisoning.
The Kola nut, or “bissy” (as it’s called in Jamaica) is used as a home remedy for stomach ailments and vomiting in cases of suspected food poisoning. You grate it (like the nutmeg), boil it to make into a tea, and sweeten it. It really works!
However, if the case of food poisoning is severe, seek medical attention immediately.
